Pittsburgh’s newest sound, MANIAM, makes a glowing debut with “MARIGOLD”

What began as Michal’s demo inspired by Elliot’s pop influences, transformed into the glowing, bright, sunrise-feeling love song for the sun, “MARIGOLD.”
Let’s take you back to March 2026. The sun is finally poking through after a long, cold winter, and Michal and Elliot are reminded of how much they’ve missed her.
“MARIGOLD,” the debut single by Pittsburgh-based group MANIAM, is inspired by Jungle’s For Ever and SZA’s Ctrl. With a spritely, up-tempo chord progression, buzzy synthesizers, and smooth basslines, the track perfectly conveys the sun-soaked energy felt as the sun overtakes gray skies. The introduction of Elliot’s vocals is really when the single begins to shine.
As far as what to expect from this fresh new talent, be on the lookout for their second single, “HOT BRANDY,” set to be released in September 2026, along with plenty of accompanying media. That’s less than a month away—but who’s counting? We are.
